about

As an ode to the earlier Pagan roots of Ireland, A Druid’s Tale paints a picture on a fictional series of events that unfold on a Druid’s quest to welcome Spring while invoking magic on the night of the Equinox. The Druid fulfills his quest to honor his ancestors, revere the deceased, and summon various forces at moonlight to help fulfill his wishes. Scaled back to me more piano inspired, while written and recorded in three days during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the first three tracks that make up the narrative of A Druid's Tale have a mournful, pensive Neoclassical ambiance akin to the beginnings, endings, or transitional scenes in Horror, Thriller, and Mystery films. The last two tracks "The Dilapidated Portrait" and "A Liturgy for Yule" carry a more dissonant, experimental approach that taps into a distinctly atonal, Avant-Garde atmosphere. Enjoy this release as a contrast from the distinctly Halloween inspired material made evident on the other Cucurbitophobia works released before and after.
