about

“Nexus Insidias” is a departure from all previous Cucurbitophobia releases.
The opening title track is a 17 minute Atmospheric Metal/Industrial-tinged opus driven by guitars, drum machines, and haunting synth pads. Inspired by film scores and visions from films such as Terminator, Alien, Lifeforce, and Fright Night, it depicts a dystopian future dominated by otherworldly creatures with a malevolent nature. Inspired by Occult themed horror films like Pumpkinhead, Prince of Darkness, and Evilspeak, "The Reckoning" is a Dark Ambient/Drone like piece, sprinkled with vestiges of light neoclassical piano patterns. "The Coven" is one of my most avant-garde works to date. Initially created and released as the score for Midwest Horror Network's YouTube Horror short, "A Stroll Through the Woods", this work encapsules a dark, grotesque, tribal eeriness that pays homage to Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring", The Omen, and The Blair Witch Project. "The Faint Reflection" is a short piano piece that has a sad, mournful, mysterious feel. Paying homage to Horror and Thriller films about apparitions, ghosts, and undead folks visiting from the beyond, this piece leaves a feeling of wonder and a thread of mystery. Enjoy this work for a more musically diverse approach in keeping the spirit of Samhain alive and kicking.
